This is the card I CASE'd for the challenge: F4A322 Dragonfly. This card was a stretch for me when I first joined SCS 3 years ago - since then I have learned lots of wonderful new techniques and delved into totally new and innovative products.
On this card I randomly applied 3 colors of DOX ink to a large acrylic block, Spritzed with water and "stamped" onto my cardstock. I tried spritzing my gingko stamp then putting it to paper in hopes it would lift some color leaving an image behind - alas that didn't work too well since I had already spritzed the DOX pretty heavily on the block. So instead I stamped with Versamark and embossed with clear powder (not sure it shows in the pic but a lovely sutle pattern IRL. I stamped my dragonflies onto white cardstock, colored with primsacolor pencils and added some stickles to the wings. Using a ruler and an exacto knife, I cut an inside frame making sure that my image was still connected to the outer frame in enough areas to give it a bit of stability then painstakingly used the knife to cut away all the interior white parts to let the BG show through. Framed this with midnight cardstock and attached to my base with mounting foam.
Besides all the new techniques I've tried on this site - I do believe in the past year I have learned to take better pictures using available natural light instead of the yellowish overcast of a flash camera.

Wow -this is stunning - what a wonderful background. Love the way you have framed the butterflies and the sparkle I can see on their wings. So nicely done.

Linda this is so pretty...and you've come a long way with your techniques and photo staging (natural light is best)..Love the colors and sparkles of those dragonflies.
Wow! This is beautiful in every way! Yes, I would say you have grown in your photography skills. I am so proud that I have grown in that way too! I love the sparkle on your dragonflies! This caught my attention from the gallery thumbnails!

You nailed the theme for this month's Fan Club, and what an amazing card you've made! The original one is very pretty; this one is a stunner! I can't believe how perfect your craft knife work is--and what a great plan for the overall layout of the card! Love this!

This is such a stunning card Linda. I actually have this dragonfly stamp so I am putting this into my fav's for future reference! I can see the ginko pattern in your lovely bg adding some wonderful texture. The sparkle on the dragonflies is amazing and so is your wonderful executed frame. I love everything about your gorgeous card! ~Karen.

I agree with helekins, Linda. Your dragonflies are so well done as is your ‘ghosted’ ginkgoes. Even if you had to plan b with your bg, I rather like the subtle. One still can recognize those prehistoric leaves. Love this!
